Not only are we are helping to address the spay/neuter and rescue needs of our city and county, we also are targeting the Four Corners region of Colorado, Utah and Arizona as well as Ute and Navajo Indian reservation lands. The area had one of the highest euthanasia rates in Colorado. Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter provides assistance to these areas by offering spay/neuter certificates to area residents, supporting spay/neuter clinics on reservation lands, rescuing stray dogs and assisting with the sterilization of feral cat colonies. Because of our involvement, euthansia rates have been greatly reduced.

In short, Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter is battling the pet overpopulation crisis in Aspen, Pitkin County and beyond. We are Spaying it Forward with our Spay/Neuter Program, and providing a new lease on life for dogs and cats with otherwise bleak futures.
